Since you’re here, you’re probably curious about how project management techniques can help you succeed in procurement. As we discussed in the interview, risk management can identify those areas of the procurement process, as well as the procurement itself, that can cause problems for you.
Some of those problems can be eliminated by using project management in every procurement effort. Schedule, communications plans, defining roles and responsibilities, reporting status regularly – these are some of the ways to apply project management techniques to improve your process.
Maybe you aren’t familiar with project management techniques. Many people aren’t – but they’re not hard to learn.
You just need someone who can help you learn them. And how to apply them to what you do. Someone who knows procurement AND project management. That’s right. You guessed it. That person is me!
